The Sales is On!

Besides the dreaded tax, there is also the much welcomed sales. I was excited to check out what the sales can do for my new home and was quite excited browsing around. Checked the house and it was looking quite good. I am beginning to think the unit will be ready by 19 June.

Planter boxes up

Then I got a call from my banker who informed me after checking with my lawyer than I am still ways away from settlement. Banker said if no settlement by October, I have to go through the whole approval process again. Troubled I checked with my real estate agent and he came back with - expect unit to be ready by June but the paperwork to get it ready for occupancy is 2 months. That will put me in a September shift.

My first thought was....
"Can't freaking catch a break!"
However once I calm down cause Nite has been saying I too kan cheong lately...it could actually work in my favor.

  • By August, I would have enough money to furnish my home comfortably without having to rely on the First Home Owner Grant or selling my remaining shares!
  • By August, I might even have enough deposit to redo the home loan and change it to a 20% deposit. That will save me from paying LMI.
  • I now have enough time to do more R&D into the stuff like best internet deal, best energy provider etc..though sometimes it makes me eats my fingers when I can't get onto the deal and had to let it slip by like now.
  • I get to spend winter at uncle's home still. Home heating is one of the main contributor to high energy bills. Not needing to spend my winter heating up my new place by myself is a relieve I tell you. By the time I am ready to move it will be early spring and day will be longer and hopefully less cold.
So puh-leeeeeeease work in my favor!
